Hollywood horror film ?The Conjuring 2? is said to be so scary that a man has reportedly died while watching it. The name of the 65-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh has not been identified, but reports have confirmed that he passed away during a night screening of the James Wan thriller.
The victim was reportedly accompanied by a friend to Sri Balasubramaniar Cinemas in Tamil Nadu to watch the highly-anticipated sequel to 2013?s ?The Conjuring.?
The man supposedly complained about getting chest pains exactly during the climax of the movie. He ended up fainting and was rushed to a nearby Old Government Hospital. A report stated that the man had suffered from a heart attack.
Unfortunately, the doctors declared him dead and asked his still-unidentified friend to transfer the body to the Tiruvannamalai Government Medical College Hospital. However, the friend allegedly disappeared and the victim?s body has not been found since.
The incident is being investigated by the police so that the two men?s identities can be verified for proper information of their families.
Controversy aside, ?The Conjuring 2? has been making news since it hit the cinemas earlier this month. The R-rated horror flick surpassed the big screen adaptation of ?Warcraft? to make its way to the top of the US box office. ?
The Warner Bros thriller was estimated to have opening ticket sales of $40.35M. Although 4% less that it?s prequel?s $41.9M ticket sales, ?The Conjuring 2? still managed to perform better than other recent sequels, such as ?Captain America: Civil War? and ?Batman Vs Superman.?
Aside from doing well in ticket sales, the public?s interest over ?The Conjuring 2? has also been phenomenal, with movie fanatics buzzing all over the Internet about certain plot twists that some might have not noticed while watching the film.
Because of the movie?s success, reports claim that James Wan – who insiders say is ?at the absolute top of his game right now? – will soon be working on ?The Conjuring 3.?
