MacBook Pro 2016 Release Update: New Laptop To Focus Inside Specs, Not Design

By on

New details have surfaced regarding the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 from Apple and it may be looking to show off updated features rather than design. We have heard rumors about an upcoming release for a long time but latest details have revealed that Apple may soon be launching its new line of products.

The MacBook Pro 2016 model was previously rumored to be unveiled during the Apple event. However, other reports have stated that the release would likely be after the Worldwide Developers Conference in June or after Apple has released its upcoming list of devices in the event.

On the other hand, a report from 9to5Mac stated that a MacBook Pro 2016 release could be possible some time in the fourth quarter this year. The report added that they will have a lineup which includes the MacBook Air as the entry-level model, the new 13-inch MacBook as the mid-level model and two new MacBook Pro models that will be at the top of the list.

Features included in the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 is a new ?Touch ID support? similar to the features of the current iPhones and possibly four USB-C ports. According to 9to5Mac, the KGI note mentioned an OLED function key display has suggested that the new models will offer ?Touch ID support.? Although there is still no official details regarding this feature, Apple may likely add ?Touch ID support? to their products.

It could also have the new Skylake processor that should be far better than the previous Haswell processors. Aside from the Skylake processor, Apple might also be looking to add a touch screen feature in its upcoming MacBook.

Ryan Reith, program director with the International Data Collection, previously mentioned that a touch screen feature is an interesting look for the MacBook Pro since the iPad might not be getting any more popular, according to Forbes. However, as far as Apple is concerned, they may not have any plans on adding this kind of feature since it would defeat the purpose of its track pad.

The Apple MacBook Pro 2016 has yet to reveal any details on its official price and release but the 12-inch MacBook will supposedly start at $1,299.
