News about the new MacBook Pro 2016 and it is supposed release have been circulating for quite some time now.

TheBitBag has come up with a list of the supposed features for Apple?s new laptop.

Touch ID and OLED Touch Bar

Perhaps the biggest rumor so far is the replacement of the existing functions bar with the OLED Touch Bar. This strip of touch-sensitive display will be situated just above the keyboard. This feature will include shortcuts that were once performed by the twelve function keys. Functions like keyboard and screen brightness will be replaced by touch-enabled graphics. Apart from the common system functions, Apple also intends to include internal System Preference Settings. Settings like ?Do not disturb?, which is normally within the notifications area, will also be included.

Along with the OLED Touch Bar, the new MacBook Pro 2016 will also feature a TouchID sensor that will be housed behind the OLED Touch Bar. This new feature will introduce a whole new level of security for the MacBook Pro. Also, the TouchID sensor will work in conjunction with the new ?Auto Unlock? feature available with macOS Sierra.

USB Type-C Ports

The next rumored specification for the MacBook Pro 2016 is the addition of USB Type-C ports. According to reports, Apple will be replacing the existing MagSafe connector with the new USB connector. Users might remember that Apple has done so with 2015 MacBook.

With the recent advancements in USB research, it would seem possible that Apple will also get rid of the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favor of USB Type-C.

Wider Touchpad and thinner form-factor

From recent image leaks, the new metal frame for the MacBook Pro 2016 shows a much wider trackpad. The images also reveal that the form-factor of the new laptop will be thinner than its predecessor.

AMD Polaris and touch screen

Reports from Bloomberg revealed that Apple is in talks with AMD about incorporating their Polaris graphics card into the new MacBook Pro. According to the said report, the new Polaris GPU is twenty per cent thinner than its predecessor. This, along with reduced power requirements make the new Polaris fit for the new MacBook Pro 2016.

Unfortunately, a touch screen will a bit of an overkill for the new laptop. In fact, this will definitely go against their marketing plans.

Apple recently released an ad for the iPad Pro showcasing its ability to replace a computer. If they indeed include a touch screen display to the new MacBook Pro, these two products might overlap.

Whether these rumors are true or not, consumers will have to wait for the big reveal. Perhaps during Apple?s iPhone 7 launch on Sept. 7, fans might also hear news about the rumored laptop.
