Many rumors about the highly anticipated MacBook Air 2016 have been circulating even though it has yet to receive an official release date. A new update reported by Christian Daily said that the new model will carry a Retina display.?
The Air model is Apple?s only MacBook that does not have a Retina display. The non-Retina MacBook Pro was last updated in 2012 and is rumored to be phased out soon after Apple recently ordered the legacy version to be removed from their stores.
With these developments, many are hoping that the MacBook Air 2016 will have a Retina display. As for when it will be available for consumer purchase, there have been rumors that the lightweight product will have the same release date as two other new Apple products, the iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch 2.
Since MacBook Air 2016 was not launched during Apple?s recently concluded Worldwide Developers Conference held in San Francisco, California, insiders have been speculating that the next possible realistic release date is on September 2016.
If released on the said month, its launch will be simultaneous with the unveiling of the iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch 2. The latter is said to boast of more styles and materials, including more expensive models with price points between the $1000 stainless steel and $10,000 18-karat gold edition. The iPhone 7 has been rumored to be released this coming fall, with features such as an OLED screen, dual camera, 256GB capacity, Lightning adapter and more.
Aside from finally carrying a Retina display, rumors about the features of the MacBook Air 2016 claim that it will be thinner and lighter as smaller and efficient USB Type-C ports will take the place of traditional USB ports.
MacBook Air 2016 will also carry Siri, a virtual assistant initially exclusive only for iPhones.
