Apple fans are waiting for its upcoming MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. Fresh reports claim that the company will not release MacBook Air as Apple will focus on MacBook Pro 2016.

Apple introduced the Broadwell processor in March 2016. Soon after, Intel introduced Skylake processor, which is much better than Broadwell. Other improvements included a high-definition Intel 6000 graphics processing unit (GPU) together with Thunderbolt 2 connectivity. Within one month Apple upgraded the RAM of 13-inch MacBook Air. For some tech enthusiasts, these changes were boring.

Now, it is expected that the company will launch MacBook Pro 2016 with Skylake processor. Some tech analysts still believe that Apple will still launch MacBook Air 2016. However, the chances for its release are slim.

Moreover, MacBook Air does not serve as world?s slimmest and lighter laptop anymore. Ultrabooks like Asus ZenBook 3 beats MacBook Air in every aspect whether it is browsing the web, watching video or editing images. Apple could decide to stop production of the MacBook Air to make way for new models.

Back in March, tech analyst Jack March said that the name ?Air? is no longer impressive as the competitors are offering more portable laptops. MacBook Air may be replaced by thinner MacBook Pros.

?It was a very niche and expensive product, only for people with the primary priority of portability. In 2016 ? where nearly all products from Apple and competitors are thin and light ? Apple?s distinction of ?Air? is redundant,? Jack wrote on his blog.

Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly working on MacBook Pro 2016. The new MacBook Pro is supposed to pack head turning features like OLED touch bar with integrated fingerprint reader, LTE connectivity, thinner and sleeker than current models of MacBook. The device would be powered by Intel Skylake processor. Apple is supposed to increase its RAM and onboard storage as well. The new MacBook Pro will roll out with pre-installed macOS Sierra. So, it is highly likely that MacBook Air will be replaced by MacBook Pro 2016.

Apple could announce MacBook Pro 2016 in September. The company is supposed to announce MacBook Pro on September 9 and will start the sales on September 16. However, Apple has not yet confirmed the statement. However, it is almost clear that MacBook Pro 2016 is coming soon.
