Lucifer Season 3 Spoilers: Tricia Helfer Returning As Charlotte But There’s A Catch

Tricia Helfer’s introduction as the goddess a.k.a Lucifer’s mother brought an interesting mix to Fox’s Lucifer. Last season, she took over the physical body of a mortal named Charlotte and introduced herself to everyone as such. But her time on Earth was cut short when Lucifer had to send her back to heaven using the Flaming Sword. It’s a bummer for those who loved her character. The good thing is that we haven’t seen the last of Charlotte just yet.

Executive producer Joe Henderson recently confirmed that Helfer will still be a part of Lucifer Season 3.  Speaking to Buddy TV, the showrunner said: “Tricia Helfer is an amazing actress and we adore her. It’s not the last we’ll see of her. She’s in our cast for Season 3.” However, as the character no longer possessed by Lucifer’s mother, Charlotte will be in her normal form when the show returns.

Henderson did not provide specifics on the new Charlotte but he hinted they will make “something different” with her character. Whatever it is, it’s exciting to see more of her next season given she’s provided such an interesting foil to other characters. Her relationship with Lucifer is especially beyond interesting now given that what he sees when he looks at her moving forward is going to be his mother. Dan and Chloe’s perception of the normal Charlotte is another thing to look forward seeing as well.

Lucifer Season 3 Premiere

The third season will pick up where Season 2 left off: the truth bomb that Lucifer was about to reveal to Chloe. We can recall toward the end of the cliffhanger finale that he called his partner-slash-love-interest to tell her that he’s now ready to reveal everything she needs to know.

“There’s where we’ll pick up at the top of Season 3,” Henderson shared. “Part of the question is: How long has Lucifer been in that desert? What’s been going on? Is he going to still tell her the same thing? What changes between in the moment he gets back to Chloe and what decisions has he made?”

The scripts for Lucifer Season 3 were already turned in. Filming will commence in the next few days with a target premiere of October 2. The show will have a panel in the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC 2017) so we’ll hopefully receive more details about the future episodes there.

Cast members Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, Kevin Alejandro, Aimee Garcia and Tricia Helfer, plus EPs Henderson and Ildy Modrovich is gracing the Indigo Ballroom on July 22 at 1:50 pm.
