Lucifer Season 2 Trailer confirms Maze?s return, Explosive ?Mom? Introduction

By on

Lucifer Morningstar finally reveals his weakness in the Lucifer Season 2 trailer with the introduction of his Mom, Charlotte, played by Tricia Helfer. ?

In an interview with TV Line, Helfer said that ?The Mother of Angels? wants to spend time with her sons and get back what was taken from her.

Natural Dysfunction

According to Hypable.com, Helfer has said, ?There?s definitely some animosity, but there?s a lot of different levels to it. It is a mother-son relationship. It?s like any family [where] we?ve got our own natural dysfunction. We?ve got our own stuff that we?re dealing with.?

The trailer also reveals the return of Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). We recall that the last time we saw her was when she tended Amenadiel?s (DB Woodside) wounds. She went MIA after that, possibly to avoid the brothers, as Lucifer returned to Earth from a quick trip to Hell, where he discovered that their mother has escaped.

Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) is a fallen angel, who has held his fort in Hell, until he decided to go for a vacation on Earth. His life of endless partying, manipulation, and women takes a different turn when a celebrity was shot on his exclusive club?s doorstep. Resolving to find the reason behind this audacious act, he crosses paths with Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), who he finds out, is immune to his hypnotic methods of manipulation.

A Question of Morality

Even before Neil Gaiman?s Lucifer premiered in January, critics?conservatives and the Church?have been protesting its release to the public due to morality. The title itself is enough to scare the devil, pun intended, out of you. Thirteen episodes after, though, and it seems that the controversial TV show has garnered a following as the second season will premiere next month, on September 19.

American Gods, another adaptation of a book by Neil Gaiman, is set to premiere in a few months as well.
