Details about the next flagship handset by South Korean tech company LG has been leaked several times in the past months. There are rumors about its supposed appearance based from photos and third-party phone cases. To fuel the excitement for their next offering, LG has previously released a teaser video for the LG G3. Moreover, LG?s UK website has just posted a product page dedicated to the upcoming smartphone?and mark it as ?Coming Soon.?
The teaser video only showed its form and design very briefly, no specs have even been detailed. Thanks to the British LG site, it is now known that the model number of the device is D855. This information goes very much aligned with the previous report that the Federal Communications Commission has approved a new LG phone model D850, which is believed to be the device?s AT&T variant to be available in the US.
It is confirmed that the LG G3 will have a 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD display. The screen will be 5.5 inches diagonally so it will result to a very impressive 534 pixels per inch density. That means a solid display with very crisp images. Smartphone observers see this as the flagship phone?s main selling point as the industry?s current go-to display is the 1080 x 1920 resolution found on Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5. With this, the LG G3 plans to stand out from the rest just like its predecessor, the LG G2, did in the previous year.
The South Korean company intends to launch their latest flagship in a May 27 event. LG is set to exceed expectations as they have performed very well with their LG G2 model which topped many ?best smartphones? list in the technology world. Though not much has been revealed about the G2 successor?s specs, a Greek tech website reported earlier that it will likely be furnished with a Qualcomm 801 processor equipped with an Adreno 330 GPU. Reports also surfaced that the new model will have a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a new feature called Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS+).
No details have been confirmed by LG regarding the G3?s price. But some online stores in Finland have apparently listed the device for pre-order at ? 610 (about $ 835) for the 16 GB variant and ? 660 (about $ 900) for the 32 GB. At any rate, speculations will definitely end and curiosity will be addressed as the device will be launched barely a week from now.
