LG Google Smartwatch Leaked: Is It To Match Nexus 6 Smartphone?

Sundar Pichai, Google?s Android chief announced that the company plans to release an Android SDK for wearable devices, but now leaks of Google?s upcoming smartwatch appeared and apparently made by LG.

Google?s upcoming Android smartwatch has been revealed by @evleaks and reportedly made by LG. According to, @evleaks also unveiled the specifications of the Google smartwatch such as 1.65-inch IPS LCD display with 280 x 280 resolution, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage.

However, there is no confirmation yet of which Android version will run the wearable device or what kind of processor chipset will power it. As of now, Google is preparing the Android SDK for wearable devices and expected to be discussed at the upcoming Google I/O event this year in June including the possibility to become the partner of new Nexus 6 smartphone.

Comparison with Other Brands

Samsung launched the Galaxy Gear along with Galaxy Note 3 last year and only made it compatible with selected Galaxy smartphones. Some users will need to port the program on Galaxy Gear so they can use it to other Android handsets.

In comparison with Google smartwatch, Samsung Galaxy Gear sports 1.64 inches of 320 x 320 Super AMOLED display, 800 MHZ single-core processor, 1.9 MP camera with Backside Illumination sensor, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. Galaxy Gear is powered by a 315 mAh battery unit with up to 150 hours of standby time and up to 25 hours of typical usage.

Galaxy Gear supports Samsung Apps, ChatOn, Smart Relay, S Voice, Pedometer, Stopwatch and Timer features.

Sony smartwatch on the other hand boasts 1.42 inch multi-coloured OLED display, Bluetooth core 3.0 and can last up to 1 week of battery life with minimal usage. If user will heavily use Sony smartwatch, the wearable can last for the entire day.

Other features supported by Sony smartwatch include watchband and clip, music player control, call management, reads text messages, email and calendar, and can connect to Facebook and Twitter.

It is compatible with several Xperia smartphones such as P, S, U, acro S, advance, J, miro, T, Tipo dual, SP, Z Ultra, Z1, Z1S, ZL and Xperia Z T-Mobile variant.
