2017 is officially here and LG Electronics will be the first to unveil its flagship smartphone, the LG G6, for this year. The latest LG G6 leaks point to a water resistant smartphone with a unibody design and a glossy or a matte finish.
Leaked renders from famous tipster @OnLeaks showed the LG G6 ditching its modular design. The G6 is seen featuring a dual camera module on the rear along with a fingerprint sensor. A new report detailing the LG G6 case render adds further credence to the long rumored features.
LG G6 Case Render Details
An alleged render of the LG G6 courtesy of Slash Leaks also features the same dual camera module as in earlier leaks. Two camera lens are aligned horizontally while a dual-tone flash is embedded between them. Just below the rear cameras is the fingerprint sensor.
Other than that not much can be inferred from the leaked case. It is also not known whether or not the leaked case is from LG Electronics itself. However, the LG G6 case render indeed seems pretty innovative providing a stand on the rear of the case. The device can be positioned in a way to maximize the entertainment experience on the go.
Other set of leaks indicate a glass design for the LG G6. According to ETNews, LG might be using glass for the front and the back of its next flagship phone. The report claimed that the G6 will employ a 2.5D glass panel for the front produced by Biel company. The back will be a 3D glass panel said to be supplied by C&S Glass.
LG has decided to ditch metal for glass because of wireless charging. With a glass sandwich design the G6 will support wireless charging. The rumor, however, contradicts the leaked renders that hint of a metallic design.
LG G6 Features & Specifications
While the company remains tightlipped over the LG G6 features and specs, rumors and speculations continue to give us a pretty neat idea of the phone. LG is expected to pack the G6 with a top tier chipset, most likely the Snapdragon 835. This along with 6GB of RAM will power the device.
The LG G6 features a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display, similar to that of its predecessor. The screen surface will not be curved but can be slightly contoured as on the G5. There are also rumors that the South Korean phone maker may add a 4K resolution to its flagship phone.
LG is rumored to drop its flagship phone ahead of Samsung?s Galaxy S8 series during the Mobile World Congress 2017 happening at the end of February. Other rumors even indicate a much earlier launch for the LG G6. For more LG G6 leaks, updates and rumors stay tuned to TheBitBag.com.
