LG G3 Smartphone: Killer Features Versus HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2

By on

LG G3 has been announced boasting a 2K display resolution and a high-powered camera. But how does it par with HTC?s One M8, Samsung?s Galaxy S5 or Sony?s Xperia Z2?

Vital Upgrades Only

Instead of delivering a complete revamp of hardware specifications based from LG G2, G3 featured important upgrades that are intended to help users get the best experience possible from LG.

For the display, users can now view images and videos under the 2K 2560 x 1440 display resolution using LG G3. The processor has a clock speed of 2.5 GHz powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 System-on-Chip.

In terms of multitasking, Snapdragon 801 has been partnered with 3 GB of RAM chipset to keep smooth scrolling and navigation, and better support NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 radios.

Powerful Rear Camera

Although LG did not increase the 13 megapixel on the camera of G2, the company managed to add an important module called Optical Image Stabilization, which reduces blur, delivers higher clarity and generates better image results.

Additionally, LG G3 sports a Laser Auto-Focus feature which increases focus speed dramatically and eliminate blurry shots using a laser. It also works perfectly with the Optical Image Stabilization module attached to the camera.

Smoother User Interface

LG redesigned the user interface on G3 in order to make it a lot simpler than the previous Optimus UI. LG G3 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with simple to navigate and less heavy interface that supports various services.

One of these services is a virtual personal assistant called Smart Notice that learns depending on the user?s habits instead of delivering random feeds. A new keyboard with better intuition has been included and can be modified according to your hands? reach.

Upgraded Security

LG added three new security measures on G3 to avoid spectators and hackers on retrieving important stored data.

  1. Knock Code ? It offers several different combinations for a more personal touch that is likely to become more difficult to penetrate than Fingerprint Sensors. However, its strength remains to be tested against hardcore hackers.
  2. Content Lock ? A system setup that limits content from being viewed by others to keep data private.
  3. Kill Switch ? A built-in wiper and disabler on your smartphone in case it has been stolen or lost.

-????????? Made of plastic regardless of new design factor.

LG G3 will start selling on May 28th in South Korea and will hit 170 other countries. A gold edition is expected to be released by July 2014.
