The 3rd LEGO Batman game is officially announced. It will be making its way on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, 3DS and PS Vita. Isn?t that great news for LEGO, Batman and DC Universe fans in general? The game is scheduled at the beginning of Autumn of 2014. You can watch the announcement on the video embedded.
The upcoming game follows the events on the previous title LEGO: Batman DC Superheroes. This time, Batman, along with the DC Superheroes gang, will have to go ?beyond? Gotham City (hence the title, LEGO: Batman Beyond Gotham) to stop the naughty Brainiac from ruining the planet Earth. All in outer-space glory.
Braniac aims to achieve world destruction by using the powers of the Lantern Rings to transform everything to miniatures, and he is starting with major cities across the world. In order to stop the villain, Batman, along with his trusty sidekick Robin, and with the entire cast of DC Superhereos, will have to travel to different Lantern worlds to collect Rings and stop Brainiacs grand scheme.
Like the previous game, LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham will feature more than a hundred of DC characters to be unlocked later in the game. As with the previous LEGO game Marvel Superheroes, Beyond Gotham will be featuring larger character models for obvious large characters in the game, like Solomon Grundy.
Hopefully, LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham will have the same dynamic feeling as it did with Marvel Superheroes. Each character in that game felt unique and required a different play style. It can be expected that each character will have new tools/gadgets and/or abilities as with the statement that says “the power of the Lantern rings bring unexpected twists to the classic characters’ personalities.”
Familiar places will also be featured in the game like the ?Hall of Justice, ?the Justice League Watchtower, and of course, the Batcave.
