As fans anticipate The Legend of Zelda Wii U, Nintendo released Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD last week to appease the masses before the new game comes. It seems like there was more to it than a simple re-release, as a video from Nintendo hints that the new Zelda game might borrow a few things from Twilight Princess.
Similarities between the two games started when rumors sprung up that Legend of Zelda Wii U would also come out on the NX. Twilight Princess simultaneously released on the Gamecube and Wii, as a farewell to the former and as a launch title for the latter.
Design & Trend has now brought attention to a YouTube video discussing Twilight Princess HD. In it, Eji Aonuma stated that he?s working on a new Zelda game, referring to the Legend of Zelda Wii U, which doesn?t have an official name as of this writing.
Aonuma said that a number of ideas he wanted to do in Twilight Princess would be in the new Zelda game. Furthermore, he stated that Twilight Princess would be the starting point for the new things he would soon be adding to the new Wii U game.
Twilight Princess introduced a number of features, like Link transforming into a wolf state. The HD re-release will also incorporate Amiibos into the experience, adding a new dungeon and a new difficulty level, among other things.
Of course, Twilight Princess was also criticized for having the slowest opening sequence to date in any Zelda game. The player had to control Link as a farm boy for what felt like hours before donning his iconic green outfit and springing into action.
It?s not clear what Legend of Zelda Wii U will get from Twilight Princess, but there is a lot of good to get from that particular game. Twilight Princess HD is now available on the Wii U.
