Almost any gamer of any type has heard about the rumor swirling around Half-Life 3, and it has been almost a decade since it first started. If there?s any game producing company that would hail as the most secretive game producers, Valve would certainly take the cake. We?ve had so much anticipation and misdirection at the same time, but after a long wait, a piece of information regarding the game might prove believable, and not only that. There?s also a word that along with the 3rd Half-Life will also come the 3rd installment of another shooter from Valve called Left-4-Dead. All this, coming from the person behind the game Counter Strike, also, a former employee of Valve, Minh ?Gooseman? Le.
Gooseman leaked this information in a recent interview with GoRgnTV on Twitch. He stated that he doesn?t feel like the development of Half-Life 3 is a secret at all. He thought that it was perfectly alright to spill some beans, as he has seen some of the concept arts for the game.
?I don?t think I can talk about that, to be honest, but I think it?s kind of public knowledge, that people know that it is being worked on? And so if I were to say that yeah, I?ve seen some images, like some concept art of it, that wouldn?t be big news to be honest.
?But yeah, I mean like I guess I could say that I did see something that looked kinda like in the Half-Life universe. And I mean it wouldn?t surprise anyone if I said they?re doing it, they?re working on it, yeah. So to go on a limb I?d say I did see some concept art for Half-Life 3.?
But it?s not just Half-Life 3 which was brought up in the conversation. Gooseman also mentioned something about Left-4-Dead 3?s development. He stated that he was also stoked with the next Left-4-Dead game.
?I saw it, it looks great. I was really excited when I saw that, I was like ?wow, this looks great?. Because I really enjoyed Left 4 Dead, it was just one of those games that really just changed the industry. I think at the time there wasn?t many good co-op games, so yeah, this is a great co-op game.?
With all of these bits of info from a guy who used to work for Valve, it?s really hard not to think of this as a reliable source. Either way, we really won?t be expecting any official statement from Valve itself. Not even in the upcoming E3 event. They are only likely to announce this once the product is almost ready to ship out, or we can hope for some nice surprise from ?Valve.
