The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is getting a lot of buzz in the days leading to its expected announcement. While it is normal that more and more leaks about the upcoming smartphones will surface as its launch date draws near, fans waiting for details about the Galaxy S7 Edge just got as great a look as they will get of the new phone as leaked images of the smartphone with its display on was just published.
In a report by Ubergizmo, a photo leak of the Galaxy S7 Edge was posted by Steve Hemmerstoffer on Twitter. The images show that the upcoming Galaxy S7 Edge looks very similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 Edge.
One takeaway from the photo is the size of the upcoming phone, with the Galaxy S7 Edge being slightly larger than the Galaxy S7. Their predecessors had a similar 5.1-inch display size but this time around Samsung made the move to increase the screen size for the Galaxy S7 Edge as compared to the Galaxy S7, with the former having a 5.5-inch screen and the latter a 5.1-inch display. The significance of this may not be immediately apparent but it could potentially signal that there would no longer be a Galaxy S7 Edge+ coming in the future.
The leaked photos also offers many tech enthusiasts a chance to see the Galaxy S7 Edge with its display on. While most of the photos which have already been leaked have the S7 Edge turned off, the photo leaked by Hemmerstoffer has the phone turned on which showcases the crisp and excellent display of the Galaxy S7 Edge.
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is still expected to be announced on Feb. 21 Unpacked event being held by the company in Barcelona before the Mobile World Congress 2016. We?ll be able to see more of the upcoming flagship smartphone from the popular South Korean electronics giant.
