The Kyocera Verve handset is definitely not one of those top ? of ? the ? line models being offered in the market today. However, this phone is a perfect starter device as it can deliver high marks on the basics. This mobile device is currently priced at $49.99 on Boost Mobile prepaid and $19.99 on Sprint?s on ? contract.

The Verve?s inexpensive price comes with very basic software features. While it may have a few drawbacks, this device is worth considering. It has a physical QWERTY keyboard that will satisfy messaging fanatics. For its price, it offers a 2 ? megapixel camera and performs all the basic tasks that a mobile device owner could need.

Ultra ? Pocketable

This inexpensive mobile device comes in pink and grey for Sprint users, while a deep blue version is available for Boost Mobile clients. The Verve is ultra ? pocketable, measuring 115mm by 54mm by 14.9mm. It offers a compact frame with a reasonable weight of 132.5 grams, making it comfortable to hold.

It has a Micro ? USB port and a volume rocker found on the left edge of the device, while a 3.5mm headphone jack is available at the top. Taking photos is also easier with its shortcut camera button found on the right side. The Verve offers a 2.4 ? inch QVGA display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.

The Verve?s key feature is the sliding four ? row keyboard, which can be found underneath the device. It has a sliding mechanism that makes it easier to open and close.

While consumers should not expect sophisticated software apps included in the device, they can enjoy all the basic features expected in any useful handset. The Verve?s contact book can hold up to 600 entries, where users can input several pieces of personal information for each contact. For busy professionals, the Kyocera Verve offers a My Account feature that allows them to track their plans. Sprint also integrated its Family Locator, so users can determine their friends? or family?s whereabouts. It has a basic WAP 2.0 Web browser for your browsing needs, as well as a shopping portal for games, ringtones, and such.
