Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura previously illustrated a piece of artwork for Hikaru in commemoration of her cover album. Several fans have been clamoring for the return of Hikaru and wished to hear a new song from her for the game.
Hikaru has recently worked with Japanese producer and DJ PUNPEE for Ray of Hope MIX versions of Hikari and Simple & Clean. The songs are intended for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.
