Square Enix recently revealed fresh details about some of its highly anticipated games at E3 2016. Kingdom Hearts 3 fans have been waiting for the gameplay details, and the developer has revealed new information for the title. According to Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts 3 has ditched the Final Fantasy 15 and Final Fantasy 7 worlds.
All the Kingdom Hearts games have worlds from Disney films as well as original worlds for the game. While Kingdom Hearts has Final Fantasy characters such as Cloud and Squall, the franchise has yet to see a Final Fantasy world. Some have been thinking this would change in Kingdom Hearts 3, but this doesn?t seem to be the case.
?We?re not adding any Final Fantasy worlds,? Kingdom Hearts 3 Co-director Tai Yasue told GameSpot. ?At this moment, we are not really coming up with any plans for that, we’re making original worlds and Disney worlds.”
Yasue debunked all the rumors that have been circulating on the Web which suggested that Kingdom Hearts 3 will bring the famous areas from the Final Fantasy games. According to Square Enix, they only included characters from Disney films because they are easily recognizable. They are also unique and easily jives with the game?s style and gameplay.
Kingdom Hearts games have been fans? favorite as the previous entries featured many Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald The Duck, and a whole lot more. We?ve yet to hear though if Square Enix will include worlds from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rumors about having The Avengers appear in the game have been high after Disney acquired Marvel.
Square Enix may have disappointed many fans with the announcement. Nonetheless, fans have something to be excited about this year as they can quench their thirst for more Kingdom Hearts as Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will come out this year. This prologue will help bridge all the big plotlines from the series and is a great way to prepare for Kingdom Hearts 3.
