The Japanese anime “King of Prism”?by Pretty Rhythm is now the longest running anime film in South Korea. Unlike other Japanese anime films, King of Prism is now on its 14th week in South Korean cinemas. According to the latest update, the anime film premiered on August 11 and 100 days after its premiere, the film attracted 90,000 more moviegoers. At the end of 2016, the film is expected to surpass the 100,000 mark.
In an interview with director Masakazu Hishida, he said ?We could never have dreamed that the movie would have such a long run in South Korea, could we?? The record was previously held by ?Love Live! The School Idol Movie? in 2015. That anime film also ran for 14 weeks in South Korea.
The “King of Prism”?animated film is a spin off to the ?Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live? animated TV series. The titles are based from the original ?Pretty Rhythm?, which features a dancing/fashion-themed arcade game for girls. Another sequel to the Rainbow Live will also arrive in 2017 entitled ?King of Prism: Pride the Hero?.
“King of Prism”?by Pretty Rhythm features a three-member boy band called Over the rainbow. The anime film, which was released in Japan on January 9, stayed in theaters for 238 days and is subsequently reported to have earned 800 million Yen in the course of eight months.
