Kimi No Na Wa ?Your Name? Novel Details and Release Date

Ever since the success of the hit Japanese film, Kimi No Na Wa, famously known as ?Your Name,? fans had been searching high and low for Makoto Shinkai?s Kimi No Na Wa Novel, that inspired the film.

And now, the search will finally be over. In October, Yen Press issued a statement about the release of the main novel in May 2017. Additionally, the company also plans to publish Ranmaru Kotone?s Manga adaptation and Arata Kano?s ?Your Name.?

According to Anime Anime the Kimi No Na Wa Novel is set to be released in 22 countries plus some territories in Europe, North America, and Asia.

What countries will be included?

The Kimi No Na Wa Novel is currently out in countries such as Malaysia, Taiwan, and Thailand. Japan had the novel released last June 18, before the its movie adaptation came out.

The success of the novel was quite apparent since it ranked 34 in Japan?s bunko (trade paperback) book chart, selling 1,009,000 copies in October 16. The novel also set a record in Taiwan, having 40,000 initial copies. This isn?t a normal trend for translated novels such as Kimi No Na Wa, in Thailand.

On the other hand, Thailand had to have more prints, since the novel?s first release almost sold out really fast. Worldwide, the Kimi No Na Wa Novel had 3.2 million copies sold. No wonder everybody?s curious about the book.

The countries that will be included in the upcoming release of the main novel are United States, South Korea, Vatican City, Hong Kong, Canada, Macao. Fans from Great Britain, China, Belgium, San Marino, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Vietnam, Switzerland, Australia, Spain, Singapore, and Germany can also expect the upcoming release.

Kimi No Na Wa Details

The film adaptation of Kimi No Nawa garnered about US$181 Million, and a total of 16.4 million tickets sold worldwide.

Makoto Shinkai is also responsible for writing the award-winning Spirited Away, and other animated films such as Paprika.

Besides the main novel, Kimi No Na Wa has a Spinoff Novel called AnotherSide: Earthbound, that focuses on the other characters of the film.
