Kim Rae Won is not yet ready for married life. This is what the actor revealed following the successful run of the Doctors Korean drama.
The hospital-based romantic series featured Park Shin Hye as a rebel-turned-doctor Yoo Hye Jeong. Rae Won played her professor-turned-love-interest Hong Ji Hong. According to Nielsen Korea, the SBS show?s final episode gathered 19.5 percent of viewers. This was more than double the audience share of the new KBS series, Love in the Moonlight, which aired on the same time slot.
Fans of Doctors Korean drama are hoping that the show will return for a second season. Some have pointed out that its storyline still left a lot of room for a sequel, specifically the love story of its lead characters.
In relation to this, Rae Won has dismissed speculations that he is going to get married now that Doctors is over.
?I filmed two movies and have a lot to do still,? he said in an interview with Allkpop. ?[Marriage] probably won’t be for another few years.?
The 35-year-old matinee idol also explained his decision to not prioritize his love life for now. ?I’m not self-centered, but I have big dreams for the 2nd leg of my career,” he clarified.
In the same report, Rae Won also talked about working with Shin Hye. The award-winning actor shared that they had good chemistry because they both made efforts to match each other. He also added that this is different from how other k-drama actors who would just ?close themselves and do their own thing.? According to Rae Won, Doctors would not have been as successful if he just focused on his individual character.
The actor also said that his nine-year age difference with Shin Hye did not matter at all. The two even had a steamy love scene towards the end of the series, which was widely talked about by viewers. According to several fans, Rae Won?s age gap with the 26-year-old actress even added to his sex appeal.
