It looks like Suda51 wants to bring some of his best games to current-gen consoles. The quirky game developer has recently expressed interest in bringing Killer 7 and No More Heroes to current-gen consoles. The developer is also working on a free-to-play hack and slasher called Let it Die and a re-release of The Silver Case.
Despite a number of games on PS2 and PS3, Suda51 hasn’t made much impact in the current gaming landscape. While Let it Die could be a huge hit, others will likely look forward to the remasters if they come. Given their uniqueness and quality, one can only hope. Remasters are everywhere these days after all.
One of the most imaginative games ever made, Killer 7 had fans take control of an assassin and his multiple personalities. Each one has a unique set of skills that could be used in combat or solve puzzles.
Each personality made the gameplay feel fresh, along with the crazy boss fights and storyline.
Given it’s cel-shaded graphics, there’s a good chance the game will still look great on PS4 and Xbox One. The game could also be released as a PS2 on PS4 title if Sony wants it to head that direction. It’s doubtful anyone would complain, since it is truly a classic.
No More Heroes
A game that Suda51 used to parody the fanboy lifestyle, No More Heroes was a great Wii title. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but was a noticeable standout from the Wii lineup. The game was so good it was given a sequel, which received a mixed response from fans and critics.
While it was ported to PS3 and Xbox 360, the developer might not have been happy with those ports. During an interview with Destructoid, the developer stated that he wanted to remaster the original version. Not the port for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Will we see these games come to PS4 and Xbox One? Fans wouldn’t complain. These two titles helped prove that the gaming genre is ripe for unique storytelling. Here is hoping that Suda51 gets what he wants and brings Killer 7 and No More Heroes to PS4 and Xbox One.
