Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole album is making a lot of noise these days. Now, the popular lyricists Royce Da 5?9?? has praised Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole musical works. Will his words inspire the rappers to launch the joint project?
According to XXL, during a talk with DJ Vlad, Royce Da 5?9? appreciated Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole for creating their own style rather following the crowd. Royce also mentioned that Kendrick Lamar does a great job compared to Drake. ?Kendrick Lamar is the exception to every rule in hip-hop. He sits in that very successful MC space by himself but he takes that hit. He doesn?t sell the same number of records as Drake does. He may have to take that hit in sales to get the Grammy?s and receive the creative accolades,? Royce said. In Royce?s opinion, J Cole?s musical works are super hit because of their simplicity. He said Cole never copied anyone?s style.
?J. Cole lives in a space by himself too, man. I think he?s quietly outselling most of the artists. He?s so himself on records and it?s almost a gimmick,? Royce said.
Fans are already aware that if these Kendrick and Cole work together they can make magic. Last week, Kendrick Lamar?s album ?untitled unmastered? came out as a response to ?LeBron James tweet. ?Yo @dangerookipawaa after that @kendricklamar Grammy performance, you have to release those untitled tracks asap!!! What?s up? Talk to me,? LeBron James tweeted. TDE President asked him for some time. The album was totally unpredicted. Now its has grabbed No. 1 position on Billboard?s Top 200 chart. The collaborative album may come out without any pre-announcements. Kendrick Lamar has already hinted such a surprise launch. ?We gonna drop that out the sky, I ain?t gonna give no dates, no nothing. I?m just gonna let it fall,? he said in an interview.
There is no possibility of one more rapper joining Kendrick and Cole for the joint album. ?It?s coming. We already got too many songs. Even if you just get an EP, you gonna get something, but we got sh? that we holding in the stash,? Cole said a long time back.
Do you feel Royce has indirectly motivated Kendrick Lamar and J Cole to unveil the collaborative album?
