Kendrick Lamar may have had a big smile on his face when he became one of the big winners at the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards last Tuesday night. The rapper took home two of the more prestigious trophies, winning Best Lyricist and Best Hip-Hop video for ?Alright.? He also won Impact Track of the Year taking home an amazing three awards along with Big Sean, according to Forbes.
The rapper, who was unable to attend the ceremony, celebrated a sellout this year with his third album ?To Pimp a Butterfly.? Lamar was also a recipient for best collaboration by a duo or group for his single ?Blessings,? featuring Drake and Kanye West and were named ?people?s champ? for the same song, reported by BBC News.
European tour with Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg
In other news, Dr. Dre proposed a European tour alongside his prot?g?s Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar, according to Rolling Stone. ?One of my dreams right now is to be able to take my ideas and take a show over to Europe,? Dr. Dre said in an interview. ?This is one of the things that I?ve dreamed about doing. I want to call it ?Beats & Rhymes.? I want it to be me and Snoop. I want it to be Eminem. I want it to be Kendrick Lamar,? he added. ?Take our full stage over there and show Europe the same amount of love that they [have] been showing me throughout my entire career. So, that?s my dream. Hopefully we can make that happen.?
Does this signal a possible album collab as well with fellow artist J Cole? There?s a good sign as Dr. Dre also introduced J Cole during a performance at Austin City, so pitting the two together might very well happen.
The Compton born rapper also announced his two Australian shows next year at Melbourne?s Rod Laver Arena and at the Allphones Area at Homebush for the Sydney fans. According to, the tour would mark Kendrick Lamar?s third visit to the country after releasing his previous album that came out in March this year.
