Story of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
?Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress? tells the story of the humans infected by a certain virus that turns them into a Kabaneri. Kabanes are full blown zombies that came out from nowhere and have started attacking the human race. The Kabaneri, on the other hand, are people infected by the virus, who still function as half human, half zombies.
Because of their plight, the government suggested a quarantine for the Kabaneri while they wait for the cure. Instead, the Kabaneri realized they are being used by the government as an experimental material that they can use in order to terminate the Kabanes and the Kabaneri.
Now, the Kabaneri must trust each other and work on helping the others who are still waiting to be cured and return to normal life of a human being. Also, they must stand together in order to save the rest from the wrath of the true Kabanes.
According to Crunchyroll, fans who will attend the screening of ?Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress? or watch the film will have a chance to buy the limited edition artbook of the series. The prequel and sequel art book illustrated by Mikimoto costs 4,000 Yen.
Meanwhile, the filming of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress?is said to be one of the main factors why ?Attack on Titan? was delayed. Apparently, the creator of the said series was busy finishing Kabaneri that AoT was eventually left on the sideline.
