Jurassic World 2 was announced to the public a few weeks after its predecessor took the cinemas by storm. As a result of this success, a recent report revealed that the budget for the movie is going to be enormous. With a huge amount of money allotted for the project, there are endless possibilities.
Back in 2015, Jurassic World took the audience to a whole new experience of dinosaurs. It was based on the 90?s film Jurassic Park, but this time, it was a bigger theme park. The director has already revealed that a sequel is going to happen, and it will have a $260 million budget.
Director Juan Antonio Bayona made the announcement during an interview with a Spanish magazine. Scified later then translated the conversation and revealed the huge amount of budget in store.
If you have enjoyed the first installment, with this budget, you will surely have fun in the sequel. The first film had a budget of $150 million and gained $1.67 billion worldwide. If Jurassic World 2 will have a plus $110 million on its project money, can you imagine how far it can take the movie?
Jurassic World 2 Plot
As of now, the director is yet to reveal the plot. But, former Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow teased the fans that it will be larger than the first one. He mentioned that it will focus on the spread of the dangerous dinosaur-creation technology.
?I feel like the idea is that this isn?t always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment,? the director told Wired in July. ?It?s almost like InGen (the genetics company in the movie) is Mac, but what if PC gets their hands on it? What if there are 15 different entities around the world who can make a dinosaur?? he continued.
These statements would suggest that the upcoming dinosaur-movie is going to feature the whole world. Plus, seeing pterodactyls flying away from the theme park in the first installment will give the idea that they are going wild somewhere across the globe. Should that be the case, then the movie will be really interesting as Owen (Chris Pratt) chases them down in different countries.
This will all happen if the budget is really $260 million. But, an update from Slashfilm mentioned that a reliable source debunked the news. According to the informant, Bayona did not reveal the budget for the film. In fact, the production has not even reached the point where they have to decide the amount of ?money needed. Also, the source revealed that the budget will not be anywhere close near $260 million.
For now, the only thing viewers can do is wait for the official announcement. Jurassic World 2 is going to be the second installment of the franchise. Reports?said the franchise is a trilogy, so after the sequel premieres in June 2018, expect another one some time in the future.
