The Black Mass actor Johnny Depp has made a cameo appearance during the latest episode of The Walking Dead. And this is perhaps the most interesting role he has as an actor in his entire career.
In case you missed it, of which you probably did, the Mortdecai actor is Decapitated Zombie No. 3. To convince the Saviors to believe that the leader of the Hilltop, Gregory, is dead, Rick, Jesus and Andy placed three decapitated heads from different walkers and picked the closest resemblance to Gregory, the Huffington Post reports.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, The Walking Dead special effects artist and episode director Greg Nicotero claimed that the team utilized Depp?s old face mold to create a new head for the latest episode.
?One of the other heads, I don?t know if I?m going to get in trouble if I say this, was Johnny Depp,? Nicotero revealed. ?I think we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something and we used Johnny Depp?s head as a basis just for a clay sculpt.?
The American actor was not alone though as the mold next to Depp is Nicotero?s himself.
?It?s kind of funny because a lot of people ask me how many cameos I do in the show as a walker,? Nicotero said. ?The Gregory head is actually a cast of my head. When Xander Berkeley was cast as Gregory, we didn?t have enough time to get him to Los Angeles to do a head cast? It ended up being a mold of my head. So that head that he picks is actually a fake head of me!?
Meanwhile, last Sunday?s episode had a pretty sinister ending. After Alexandrians seemed to have finished the job, killed off every Savior there is and began clearing off the compound, a baddie comes out and attempts to escape using Daryl?s bike. Of course he was caught, but to Rick and the whole group?s surprise, a voice came out of the walkie-talkie, revealing they had captured Maggie and Carol.
