Reality TV viewers are, by now, well-versed with the dating guidelines that the Duggars are required to follow. One such requirement involves a chaperone always being present.
However, one of the Duggar family members may not have necessarily stuck with the guidelines and is now revealing it all. In the ?Growing Up Duggar? revised edition, Jessa Seewald has spilled the beans on how she and her husband, Ben Seewald, didn?t adhere to the courting guidelines when they first began dating. As shared on the Duggar Family Blog Jessa wrote, ?The day Ben and I started courting, we began our tradition of calling each other on the phone every night. These were such special times.? She added, ?These calls were not ?chaperoned.? They were private just between the two of us.?
Even though Ben and Jessa Seewald didn?t have a chaperone during their phone calls, she revealed that their talks were really normal and nothing out of the ordinary, She shared, ?We would talk about everything from how our day went, to what we had been learning from our Bible reading, and then just anything else that we want to talk about.?
Other moments when the two didn?t adhere to the rules in the book include the moment when Ben proposed to Jessa, and they both hugged each other. Before the proposal, when the family gathered to say a prayer and everyone was asked to hold hands, Jessa and Ben held hands. Only engaged couples have the liberty to hold hands, so this was again when the couple broke the rule.
Fans who can?t get enough of this reality TV will soon be able to tune into the season 2 of ?Jill & Jessa: Counting On,? back on TLC this summer. Season 2 will witness the courtship between Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo. It will be interesting to see what angle season 2 will bring on Jessa Seewald, who is living a blissful life with Ben Seewald and their kid.
