iZombie Season 3 will only have 13 episodes. Because of this, fans are worried and are speculating that the lesser number of episodes are the effect of Season 2?s low ratings. iZombie had opened with 2.29 million viewers in 2014. Season 2 raked in 1.53 million viewers, based on an 18-49 demographics.
In the meantime, speculations for the premiere dates arise as The CW scheduled Season 3 for a mid-season premier. That might mean that the show would return some time in January 2017, according to Fansided. On Netflix, the show is expected to premier in May 2017. This speculation was formed because of the new deal between The CW and Netflix, which says that seasons of The CW will premiere on Netflix exactly eight days after the season finale airs on the former.
There are also rumors that the show will move to a different timeslot, to replace outgoing series Vampire Diaries, which is on its final season. iZombie premier might happen on a Friday instead of its usual Tuesday, to maintain The CW?s ?horror night? theme every Friday.
Season 3 is expected to bring a new kind of dynamic within the group. Now that Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) is in on the secret, he might be extra demanding about which brains Liv Moore (Rose McIver) gets to eat to help him solve his cases.
Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) on the other hand, has turned into a goody and with his deceitful ways in Season 1 and half of Season 2, we are wary about whether or not his partial amnesia is all an act. Plus, there is the promise of a new love interest for Liv, which show creator Rob Thomas promised would not die. He hinted though that it might not last either. Well, at least we know that?s one less life lost.
The gang, now that everyone is in on the Z secret, would need each other more than ever with the arrival of the Fillmore Graves zombie army. Is Vivian Stoll the new big villain to replace Max Rager?s Vaugh du Clark?
