Apple is working on the new iPhone 7. There are rumors that the company will launch the device in three variants, iPhone 7, 7 Plus and Pro. However, the latest reports claim that Apple has cancelled the Pro model.

Rumors have it that iPhone 7 Pro will include all major changes while the base and Plus model will retain the design and features almost similar to iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, respectively. The dual-camera is one of the most significant changes expected in next-gen iPhone. According to previous reports, Apple will reserve this feature for Pro model.

However, latest reports claim that Apple has managed to fit the dual-camera module in smaller iPhone 7 Plus. There will be no Pro model as the Plus model will include the changes. However, there is still confusion about Smart Connectors.

Earlier, leaked images showed the smart connectors on the back of iPhone 7 Pro. These Smart Connectors were supposed to be used for wireless charging, add external battery support and accessories. There is no sign of the Smart Connector in the Plus model. This means, Apple may not include Smart Connectors in smartphone, reported Forbes.

Meanwhile, all other specs will remain the same as reported earlier. The next-gen iPhone 7 will be Powered by Apple A10 chipset with 3GB RAM. As expected, Apple will most probably ditch the 16GB variant. Thus, iPhone 7 will offer at least 32GB onboard storage. There are rumors that 256GB onboard storage option could be there along with the 64GB and 128GB options.

The device will roll-out without a 3.5mm earphone jack. The new device will use lightning port for wired headphones connectivity. The 3.5mm jack will be replaced by a second speaker grill. Moreover, the touch sensitive home button is still a possibility in upcoming smartphone. Apple has a patent for this technology and could introduce it in the iPhone 7.
