Finally, it is the moment that everyone has been waiting for. Apple is finally announcing the release of its highly anticipated iPhone 7. The Cupertino-based tech giant has sent out the invitation to its Sept. 7 event. This invite reads, ?See you on the 7th,? followed by the event venue and time. Although somewhat cryptic, one can surmise that this event is for the new smartphone.
Apart from the invitation, Apple has been mum about any details of its new mobile device. Although it has not been immune to a flurry of leaks. Most people would know by now that the new iPhone 7 will not be supporting the 3.5mm headphone connector. Instead, it will have just the lightning connector for audio. With this in mind, the new phone will definitely ship with a pair of lighting-based earbuds. Another supposed feature for the new phone is the new ?haptic-feedback? home button. This new piece of technology is designed to mimic the physical action of clicking a button. The haptic feedback was first introduced with the new MacBook?s trackpad and the Apple Watch.
Another rumored feature of the new iPhone is the increased screen resolution. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will feature the same 1080p screen resolution while the third model, possibly the iPhone 7s Plus or iPhone 7 Pro, will have a 2K display.
Finally, there have been reports that Apple is finally getting rid of the 16 and 64 GB storage versions in its line up. According to Digitimes, Apple will start the new iPhone 7 with 32 GB storage. The next model will be the 128 GB, and then finally, the top-tier will sport a 256 GB storage.
In addition to the iPhone 7, rumors fly around about the supposed unveiling of Apple?s other products. There have been reports saying the the company will also showcase the new Apple Watch 2 and MacBook Pro during the said event.
The Apple event will take place at the Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Sept. 7.
