The Apple media event, which is scheduled to take place later this month, is surely something that many tech enthusiasts are excited about. Several new Apple devices are expected to be unveiled with the rumored 4-inch iPhone 5se headlining the new gadgets. While the iPhone 5se will be the highlight of the upcoming event, fans are already looking forward to the next iPhone after it, which is expected to be the iPhone 7. Here?s what we know so far about the highly anticipated smartphone.
According to MacRumors, the iPhone 7 is expected to be released in the fall of 2016. While no exact date has been given by Apple yet, many are expecting it to be released in September especially since the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were released in the same month last year.
When it comes to the design of the smartphone, the same MacRumors report states that Apple will be using a design similar to the iPhone 6s for the upcoming iPhone 7. The main difference would be that the rear camera hump will be gone and that there will be no antenna bands across the back portion of the phone.
Another exciting feature, which could possibly be coming to the iPhone 7, is the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack. According to 9to5Mac, a recent leak of a supposed iPhone 7 case shows that the iPhone 7 will have a body similar to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus but the case did not have a hole for the headphone jack. This could support rumors that Apple is working on removing the headphone jack for good and adding Bluetooth or Lightning headphones for the upcoming iPhone 7.
For other exciting specs, the next generation iPhone is expected to be powered by the latest A10 processors and could potentially have two versions depending on its camera, with one version having a single lens camera and the other having a dual lens camera, which could mean that the iPhone 7 will almost have DSLR-like quality for its images.
