With few days remaining until September, rumors about the highly anticipated iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are at an all time high. However, the release date of the Apple?s latest smartphone remains elusive.
Though Apple hasn?t officially announced the event, new details have now emerged suggesting that the iPhone 7 release will be later than expected. The reliable Apple leaks source 9to5Mac has attained information from AT&T which reveals the iPhone 7 and the larger dual camera iPhone 7 Plus will not go on sale until September 23rd.
The leaked release schedule of a AT&T retail store detailed the new upcoming reset hours in month of September. It specifically called for merchandising resets on dates of September 9 and September 23. It means that new iPhones could be set for pre-orders around September 9 and actual releases happening on September 23.
The fact that AT&T?s leaked date fits in more closely with past iPhone release schedules gives substance to the September 23 release date according to Forbes. The article further said that Bloomberg has casually confirmed that Apple will launch the iPhone 7 at an event on September 7th: ?The MacBook Pros aren?t likely to debut at an event currently scheduled for Sept. 7 to introduce next-generation versions of the iPhone,? wrote Mark Gurman.
Last month famed prominent leaker Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) had revealed that sales of iPhone 7 would begin on September 16th following pre-orders on September 9th. Apple?s September event was as such speculated to be held on 7th two days before company began taking pre-orders.
However, Apple fans need to take both launch and release dates with a grain of salt, as Apple hasn?t yet officially announced its September event. 9to5Mac also said that AT&T regularly schedules these resets so it may not be of anything related to iPhone 7.
iPhone 7 Specifications
The rumored specifications of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have, by and large, remained very much the same in past few months. There are even rumors of a third iPhone 7 Pro phone that Apple will unveil with its other two smartphones. The design of new phone by and large remains the same according to several reliable sources. The latest device will get Apple?s iOS 10 software and an upgraded processor/chipset for sure. Here are other rumored details:
No headphone jack
It has been long speculated that iPhone 7 will not have a standard headphone jack. The latest blueprint and photo leaks seem to confirm this. The removal is said to allow Apple to add a second speaker and thus improve the quality and volume of the sound. It will instead promote the use of its Lightning and Bluetooth headphones.
Again dual lens camera is rumoured for some time and even leaked in some photos. There is expectation that the iPhone 7 Plus or Pro will feature some potentially revolutionary optics with a dual lens camera.
Updated Home screen
A Bloomberg report quoted unnamed people ?familiar with the matter? as saying the new iPhones will have a home button that ?provides feedback to the user via a vibrating haptic sensation.? This means the new button will work similar to the trackpads on the latest MacBooks than like the traditional physical click.
Rumors and photos leaked suggest that each of iPhone 7, 7 Plus and 7 Pro will be available in new colors of ?deep blue? and ?space black.?
