iPhone 5s Tells Chicken Fat To Go Away in Latest Apple TV Ad; Features Apps like Wahoo Fitness, Withings, J&J Official 7 Minute Workout App, TRX Force, miCoach Smart Ball, Strong Lifts, Zepp Golf, and SprintTimer
The ?Health? iPhone app and ?HealthKit? fitness software, may not be ready yet, but this is not stopping Apple from ridding all iPhone users of their ?chicken fat?. In the latest Apple television ad for the iPhone 5s, Apple pushes people to track their fitness levels and make the chicken fat, go away.
In the TV ad, Apple is emphasizing the way iPhones can be a valuable tool for monitoring our fitness levels, and helping us attain the right health conditions. The ad is part of its latest campaign theme called ?You’re more powerful than you think?.
The ad shows a number of iPhone users in different fitness activities, such as running, swimming, golf, futbol, push-ups, gymnastics, weighing themselves, etc., while connected to their iPhone apps and accessories.
The ad utilizes a soundtrack called ?Chicken Fat?, a song performed by Robert Preston and was originally created for a fitness program of US President John F. Kennedy.
The ?Chicken Fat? song was used by school officials in the United Sates as part of the US Physical Fitness Program implemented by the US President’s Council on Physical Fitness.
The song has a lively ?marching band? beat and contains lyrics that say ?Go you chicken fat, go away….Go you chicken fat, go.?
In the smartphone industry, health has become a major focus in the development of apps and device features. Apple competitors have not only equipped their smartphones with health related apps and tools, but some have even come out with fitness focused devices, like the Jawbone Up24 and the Samsung Gear Fit.
The Apple ad’s ?objective? is to remind fitness oriented people (iPhone users or not), that Apple is committed to supporting fitness awareness and programs. Coinciding with the Apple WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) in San Francisco, the ad supports the announcement of HealthKit, an upcoming software that will be released this fall, together with the iOS 8.
HealthKit will reportedly assist iOS device users to monitor their health and collect fitness data. Together with an app called Health, information can be tracked and collected from a variety of fitness devices from third party manufacturers.
At the WWDC, Apple said that the data collected from an accessory from Nike and other fitness trackers, can be deposited into ?Health?, and the info can be accessed by medical facilities like the Mayo Clinic. Apple entered into a partnership with the Mayo Clinic, to assess a user’s health condition (blood pressure, etc..) and contact a hospital if needed for immediate attention.
The television ad was shown?during the Stanley Cup, but it did not ?feature ?the HealthKit software or Health app. Instead, it demonstrated accessories and apps already available in the market. Shown in the ad are accessories like the Adidas miCoach Smart Ball, the Zepp Golf Sensor, the Wahoo Fitness Blue SC Speed / Cadence Sensor, the Misfit Shine, and the Withings Health Mate.
Apps that are featured are Wahoo Fitness, Withings, J&J Official 7 Minute Workout app, TRX Force, miCoach Smart Ball, Strong Lifts, Zepp Golf, and SprintTimer.
Below is the TV ad as well as the Lyrics for the ?Chicken Fat? song used.
Touch down, Every morning, Ten times!
Not just, Now and then.
Once more on the rise. Nuts to the flabby guys!
Go, you chicken fat, go away! Go, you chicken fat, go!
Running, (two) (Run) Like a tortoise, (Okay)
Too far, and too slow. Now double up, ready!
(Running) Run two three four, (Like a hare) Run two three four,
(Now you are) Run two three four, (Getting there)
Run two three four,
Go you (Run two three four) Chicken fat,
(Run two three four) (Go away!) Everybody sing!
Go, you chicken fat, go! Go! Go! Dismissed!
