Apple is expected to reveal some of its new hardware in September. The iPad Mini 5 is among the much-anticipated devices due this year. Although the company has not released any statement regarding the launch of any hardware, rumors indicate that the Cupertino giant is all set to launch iPad Mini 5 towards the end of Q3 this year. Recently, details about the price of iPad Mini 5 have surfaced on the Internet.
The Cupertino tech giant is supposed to launch the device in three variants with 32, 64 and 128GB on board storage. Apple will most probably ditch the 16GB model that means the base model of iPad Mini 5 will be much more expensive than the base model of current iPad Mini 4. The iPad 4 (16GB) comes with $399 price tag while the model of iPad Mini 5 will cost approximately $450. The 64GB model will cost $500 while the high-end model is expected to roll out with $600 price tag.
The next-gen iPad Mini will most probably feature pressure sensitive 3D touch screen as it is already there in current iPhones. Similar to iPhone 7, new iPod?could be launched without the 3.5mm earphone jack. Moreover, the upcoming iPad mini could feature a touch sensitive home button as well.
According to Macworld, Apple could downgrade the battery of iPad Mini 5 to reduce the size of the device. iPad Mini 5’s could include a less powerful battery than the 5,124mAh component in the Mini 4. However, this will not reduce the battery life of the new device as it will be powered by next generation Apple A9 chipset. The A9 processor is more power efficient than the A8 processor that is used in iPad Mini 4. Apple isn’t expected to up the camera quality in the iPad mini 5, so it will include a 8-megapixel main camera and 1.2-megapixel secondary camera. However, the company has not yet confirmed any of these specs.
