NetherRealm Studios has recently rolled out Injustice 2 update 1.04. This new update contains the first DLC character, Red Hood, but is still unplayable at the moment. The next set of DLC characters also has their silhouettes in the character selection screen.
Red Hood and DLC Character Support
As seen on the Injustice 2 character select screen after update 1.04, Red Hood can be found between Batman and Superman’s character icons. However, he’s just there and can’t be played in any game mode. At best, fans are now assured that Red Hood could be unlocked anytime the developers want.
According to the Injustice 2 Twitter, a Watchtower stream will happen on June 7 1PM PDT/3PM CDT. Red Hood might be unlocked after the stream concludes. The developers might even talk about the new character silhouettes revealed as of update 1.04.
Mother Box Price Increase
According to the official Warner Bros. Games forums, the Injustice 2 update 1.04 increases the price of Bronze and Silver Mother Boxes. Bronze Mother Boxes now cost 5000 credits and Silver Mother Boxes, 10000 credits. NetherRealm Studios might’ve increased the prices to remove an indirect exploit to the Mother Box purchase system.
Apparently, buying many Bronze Mother Boxes will allow you to earn back half your credits once you open them all. Due to the cost-efficiency of this tactic, some clever players used Bronze Mother Boxes to hunt for Epic gears. Normally, Epic gears are easily obtained from Gold, Platinum, and Diamond boxes. Mother Boxes are also rewards for Multiverse quests and missions.
The new Injustice 2 patch notes adds some changes in both system issues and gameplay mechanics. Multiverse and Player Ghost AI are improved and will now use special powerups, if available in Multiverse fights. Potentially, players won’t be able to exploit the AI by just using a generic jump-in or cross-up attack to start their combos.
The patch notes also confirms character move bug fixes for Black Adam, Bane, Brainiac, Cyborg, Darkseid, Deadshot, Flash, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, and Wonder Woman. However, the changes in this build affect the character’s competitive mode version. So far, Black Adam and Flash changes are strictly connected to issues with their Gear-unique abilities. For now, we’ll have to wait for when we can play the new Injustice 2 DLC characters.
