NetherRealm Studios is working hard and is continuing to update the sequel to Injustice. There’s a set of new characters joining the fray soon with Red Hood coming out first this June. One of the most anticipated characters in the game are making players scour every nook and cranny of the game to see if he can be unlocked as early as now.
One of the most anticipated characters coming in the first Fighter Pack is Red Hood and players are very eager to get their hands on the character. Is it really possible to get Red Hood ahead of the initial release of the first Fighter Pack for Injustice 2?
As early as now, the latest update has brought Red Hood on the character select menu. However, upon trying to pick Red Hood from the character select menu, players will be asked to purchase the character. He can’t be bought or used though and players are left with nothing but an image of the character on the character selection screen. Players are even treated to a prompt that say Red Hood is already available in the game. Additionally, Red Hood can be seen in the character customization menu.
Checking over at the game’s online communities like Reddit, dozens of players are leaking Red Hood wearing different gears and shaders. These are in-game images, leading many to believe he can be played already. However, this was done by simply heading to the Tournament mode and turning on Random Gear. For now, the only way to unlock Red Hood in the game is to patiently wait for NetherRealm to unlock the character. Of course, players will also have to purchase the Fighter Pack to get Red Hood.
Red Hood is one of the most anticipated post-launch characters in Injustice 2. He’s Jason Todd who’s now a vigilante and like Batman, he employs the use of martial arts and gadgets. He’s more ruthless than his former mentor though and players are going to have a lot of fun with him.
Along with Red Hood, the first Fighter Pack will have Starfire and Sub-Zero. There are 6 other characters coming to the game and they’re going to come in two other Fighter Packs.
Update 1: NetherRealm has now removed the new character select menu as well as Reed hood. The character select menu has been brought back to its original state. The official Twitter account has also replied to several inquiries regarding Red Hood’s availability.
Hello! Red Hood isn't available just yet. Apologies for the confusion!

Update 2: Ed Boon has also teased just now that “we’re just day’s away” from getting Red Hood. Meanwhile, the in-game patch notes clearly state that Red Hood has been added in the game already. Those who were able to access the new version of the character select menu has also pointed out that Red Hood can only be purchased with real-world money.
Update 3: Gamers can now play as Red Hood via a Multiverse exploit. Gameplay videos of the character have also surfaced online.
Update 4: Red Hood’s move list was revealed in one of the gameplay videos, revealing that he has limited combo attack maneuvers. You can check out his move list here.
Update: 5: Red Hood is officially confirmed for release on June 13. The announcement was made on the Watch Tower stream. Due to this announcement, it means players who don’t have Fighter Pack 1 can try out the character in the Injustice 2 Red Hood Multiverse event on June 13.
