It seems Injustice 2 will add another member of the Bat-Family to the game. Ed Boon has asked fans to vote for a version of Red Hood to appear in the game. The two choices include the original version of the character that became the Joker or the most recent iteration by Jason Todd, the second Robin. Given how popular the latter is, it seems like we’ll see that version of the character in the game.
Red Hood is an interesting choice for sure. The character uses guns and Batman-style gadgets, making him one of the more unique members of the Bat-Family. Since he has no qualms about killing, he has distanced himself a bit from them, though that may have changed with the Red Hood and the Outlaws Rebirth issue. Either way, he’s an interesting character and should be a fun fighter.
Whether he’ll be in Injustice 2 at launch day or will later be added as DLC has yet to be determined; the poll doesn’t exactly give fans any clues regarding it. The fan vote for the character is on Twitter, so fans can still choose between the Joker version or the Jason Todd one, though it’s pretty obvious who’s going to win.
It will be interesting to see if the Damien Wayne version of Nightwing appears in the second game. Since a story mode is expected, it would be fun to see how the two characters interact with each other. There is also Batman, of course, who has already been confirmed for the game, so their interactions should be fun as well.
Since his appearance in the game is pretty much guaranteed, it’s nice to see one of the newer characters from DC get a shot in the fighting game. This isn’t Jason Todd’s first video game appearance though, since he was one of the main villains in Batman: Arkham Knight.
Injustice 2 is scheduled for a 2017 release on PS4 and Xbox One. Fans interested in the series’ history can pick up the Injustice graphic novels as well as the first game Injustice: Gods Among Us.
