The Injustice 2 Multiverse mode is one of the more interesting additions in the sequel, offering a unique single-player experience. Similar to Weapon Master mode in Soul Calibur 2, players partake in several battles, some with unique challenges and rewards. Currency can be gained from playing, as well as special gear for the game’s large roster of characters.

However, there is more to the mode, with various gameplay videos showcasing the amount of unique battles in it. With multiple characters to use and plenty of gear to unlock, fans will be busy after finishing the story mode. This is after getting all the possible endings of course, since the story does offer multiple paths for the player.

Online Updates

NetherRealms confirmed that the Injustice 2 Multiverse mode would be updated daily, with new challenges and rewards coming out regularly. It’s similar to the Challenges for the Injustice mobile games, including the sequel that’s available for download now. Mortal Kombat X also had a similar mode, though it didn’t have the customizing features this game has.

The daily challenges and rewards should keep players coming back for sometime, given the amount of characters in the game. Add the DLC characters and the Premiere Skins for more reasons to replay the mode a number of times. Overall, the online updates should give players various challenges to keep them on their toes for multiplayer.

Harder Challenges, Better Rewards

Some of the challenges in the Injustice 2 Multiverse mode are pretty difficult and will test the player’s skills. The game’s Everything You Need to Know trailer showed random missiles and electrical floors as examples of the various obstacles. Expect even more to frustrate some players, like using specific moves to beat the opponent or something similar.

With the harder challenges come better rewards, like gear that can change the tide of battle for the better. DC fans are hoping Robin’s gear turns him into Nightwing, since he has been fought in Story and Multiverse mode. If the isn’t a gear exclusive character, he could be a Premiere Skin for Batman’s former sidekick turned enemy.

Injustice 2 is slated for a release tomorrow on May 16, though the mobile version is already available for download. The PS4 and Xbox One version will be available tomorrow, with DC villain Darkseid as a pre-order bonus. DLC Pack 1 has already been revealed, though the release date isn’t known yet.
