While most fans are excited for the console version, Injustice 2 mobile is also something gamers are fairly excited for. The first mobile Injustice was a beautiful brawler that went beyond the first game, adding characters not in the console. Seems like the sequel to the mobile brawler will be better with story mode, the gear system and new features.

Story mode is news for fans of the mobile version, since the original mobile game didn’t have one at all. It seems like the soft launch of the game does not have it yet, since footage on YouTube has no cutscenes. Either way, it’s good to see NetherRealms up their game for the mobile version, so fans should download it.

Updated Content

Unlike the console version, Injustice 2 mobile will not have a complete story mode when it comes out next month. Chapters of the story will be periodically released in future updates, so mobile fans can get the whole story as well. According to Mic, the story of the mobile version will be the same as the console version, so that’s interesting.

This is a step forward, since the first game felt more like a companion piece despite outliving the console version. Newsarama stated that the mobile sequel could also have more characters not in the console version, though it didn’t state who. Expect this when the console version of the game has received all of its DLC, along with its GOTY edition.

More Modes

Injustice 2 mobile will also have a number of modes like campaign, challenge and a few multiplayer ones as well. This ensures plenty of replayability for those who might not want to play with others, which is a nice option. Funnily enough, it might have more single-player modes than Street Fighter 5 minus the training modes since it’s tap-based.

More modes could also be added via updates, which is what happened in the first game, so that sounds fun. The mobile sequel will also have the console’s gear system and a few new features, like aerial and duck attacks. Admittedly, it sounds a bit basic, but for a mobile fighting game it is a bit innovative compared to others.

Injustice 2 mobile will be available in May, sometime before the release of the PS4 and Xbox One version. Darkseid is a pre-order bonus for the console versions, while the mobile version will likely get it as a reward.
