Days before it’s official release, NetherRealms has released the Injustice 2 mobile story mode for those that downloaded it early. The mobile title doesn’t come out till May 11, while the console version is slated for a May 16 release. It looks like mobile gamers will get to try the story first, even though the chapters are released episodically.
For those unaware, some countries gained access to the soft-launch version of the game, with some features not yet available. This will likely be rectified when the mobile title is officially released on May 11, so patience is necessary. Still, the early access did lead to a few character confirmations and gave fans a taste of the mobile improvements.
While the Injustice 2 mobile story mode is available, it doesn’t always seem to work for some players. Gamers on Reddit stated that they get a network error when attempting to start it, which this writer can confirm. It seems like the mode will be available on May 11, when the game is officially launched worldwide.
On the brightside, those that pre-registered can gain access to the Catwoman bonus character, so that’s an additional roster member. Having four heroes will let players use the operations mode, which lets some characters level up when not being used. Players can also use the time to upgrade their characters or go through the campaign mode, which is still fun.
Anybody that wants to make the Injustice 2 mobile story mode work on Android can get the game early via APK Pure. Downloading APKs is how some people were able to play Pokemon GO ahead of it’s official release, before the blocks came.
Keep in mind that the actual game will be more updated, thanks to the patches that will come with it. Mobile players might be better off waiting for the actual game to come out, which is fairly near already. Considering the errors going on with that mode right now, it looks like waiting is the better option.
Injustice 2 mobile will be available on iOS and Android devices on May 11, so fans won’t be waiting long. Unlike the console version of the game, the story mode for mobile will be released episodically. The console version will be available on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One, with Darkseid as a pre-order bonus.
