Now that the full roster has been revealed, fans are curious about who will be included as Injustice 2 DLC. Darkseid is technically a pre-order character, so that leaves nine other heroes and villains that could be added post-launch. While no one knows who will be DLC, it seems like fans don’t want any one returning from Injustice 1.
On Twitter, Ed Boon asked fans if they want anyone from the first game to return as a DLC character. While not a landslide vote, 52% of the fans said no and they only want new fighters to be added. NetherRealms probably planned all of the new DLC characters already, but fan voices could mean we get more.
Injustice: Gods Among Us has a number of characters that weren’t in the final roster of the sequel. This includes Nightwing, Shazam and Raven, so it will be interesting to see if they return as Injustice 2 DLC. Since the fans have made their voices clear on Twitter, they might not be coming back to the fold.
Admittedly, Shazam could be added as a premium skin for Black Adam, since Reverse Flash is one for Flash. That possible exception aside, it’s not clear who will be coming to the game as an actual character. Ed Boon has stated that we would be hearing DLC news soon and fans will apparently like what they see.
Does The Poll Matter?
Since the developers have planned out the Injustice 2 DLC lineup, the poll might not matter in the long run. Then again, the demand for new characters could convince the developers to add more fighters to the in-game roster. Mortal Kombat X ended up having a ton of DLC characters added sometime after the original fighter packs came out.
Plenty of characters have been teased for the game, some come from DC Comics like Red Hood, while others are guests. Spawn and Hellboy were teased before, along with a number of Mortal Kombat characters, since NetherRealms made both games. While Spawn and Hellboy would be neat, the Mortal Kombat characters can stay in X and the recent GOTY edition.
Injustice 2 is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16, which is a few weeks away. The mobile game is available now in certain countries, but will officially come out on May 11. The print copy of the comic book tie-in is available now.
