Injustice 2 DLC: Spawn, Subzero, And Other Guest Characters Hinted Via Twitter Poll?

By on

After the initial announcement, there has been very little news regarding Injustice 2. The sequel to the hit fighting game featuring DC superheroes is one of the most anticipated titles of next year. While some clues regarding extra characters has been floating around, there has been little info discussed since. Now, however, Ed Boon has taken it upon himself to ask fans who they would want as ?guest? characters.

Fans of the first Injustice will remember that Scorpion from Mortal Kombat was a guest character there. This made sense, since the developers also made Mortal Kombat 2009 and Mortal Kombat X. Now Boon is polling fans on Twitter, asking who should be the next guest character. Some of them are from Mortal Kombat, while others are from well-known media.

Be Our Guest

Mortal Kombat characters that might be in Injustice 2 include Sub Zero, Johnny Cage, Raiden and Jax. Unsurprisingly, Sub Zero is winning since he’s one of the most popular Mortal Kombat characters in the series. Given how similar his costume is to Scorpion though, his inclusion could disappoint fans of the first game.

The characters that aren’t from Mortal Kombat are very interesting. Fans can vote for Spawn, Hellboy, The Terminator and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. All are very cool choices, but Spawn is winning the vote. He was a playable character in the Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2, but he hasn’t appeared much in video games since. Either of these characters would be great additions to the DC sequel.

No More Reservations

Injustice 2 might have more DLC characters than Mortal Kombat X, so it will be interesting to see which of these guest characters make the roster. While guest characters are nice, fans would prefer having more DC characters join the fight. Adding newer characters like Blue Beetle and Deadshot is a step in the right direction.

Currently, Injustice 2 has no proper release date. The game is expected to come to PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2017. A version for the Nintendo Switch might also be possible, since Warner Bros has recently stated that they would be making games for the console/handheld hybrid. ?
