Fans hoping that the recent Injustice 2 DLC leak was real are about to be disappointed, since it isn’t. Most gamers were already taking the alleged “leak” with a grain of salt, so no one will be surprised. Still, the promised DLC content was enticing, so the fact that it is actually fake will disappoint some fans.

YouTube personality Maximilian Dood called out the list as fake on Twitter, and Injustice 2 director Ed Boon actually retweeted the statement. It says a lot, when one of the game’s creators actually shares something like that, so there’s no denying it. Here is hoping that NetherRealms releases some info soon, since fans would love to see who else is coming.

Injustice Troll

Turns out that the person that shared this Injustice 2 DLC leak is considered as a renowned troll in the Reddit community. Most of his content has been taken down, and some fans have even called out this person for other lies. Apparently, this person was also responsible for a fake Premiere Skin ‘leak’ that wasn’t in the game, so this isn’t new. For those interested, here is the debunked DLC leak:

  • Black Manta
  • Terra
  • Black Lightning
  • Beast Boy
  • Enchantress
  • Spawn
  • Shazam – Premiere Skin
  • Red Arrow – Premiere Skin
  • Arkham Knight – Premiere Skin

In some ways, it’s a bit of a shame, since Shazam and Red Arrow would be great Premiere Skins. Then again, there’s no point in getting one’s hopes up unless the developers actually confirm the game’s news themselves. As it stands, Red Hood, Starfire and Sub-Zero are the only confirmed DLC characters, with Black Manta and Raiden teased.

When Fake News Gets Real

Many were probably hoping that the Injustice 2 DLC leak was real, since it promised some great content. This is due to a 4chan base game roster leak that ended up being 100% true, so there was some hope. It’s doubtful that a leak like that will be happening anytime soon, so fans will have to wait for more news.

While the news might disappoint some, there is plenty of fun to be had in the actual game right now. The ‘To End all Wars’ Multiverse event has finally started, giving fans Epic Gear based on the Wonder Woman film, so that’s great. Since the film has been getting positive reviews, it looks like the gear will be even more anticipated by fans.

Injustice 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, iOS and Android. Red Hood will be available in June, while Starfire and Sub-Zero have no release date yet. Fans that didn’t pre-order can also buy Darkseid right now for US$5.99.
