Injustice 2: 28 Character Roster Possibly Confirmed

By on

Injustice 2 is currently one of the most anticipated fighting games coming out this year. That anticipation went up when it was revealed that the game’s visuals had improved immensely, after some fan complaints. Now it appears that the DC brawler will have a 28-character roster when it comes out.

YouTube personality Slcmof noticed that the game’s character selection screen has 28 slots. What’s even more interesting is the fact that the slots aren’t just blank but have very specific shadows. Since DLC characters are coming to the game post-launch, one can imagine how much bigger the roster will be when they come out.

The New 28

Currently, the only characters confirmed for Injustice 2 are the following:

  • Aquaman
  • Atrocitus
  • Batman
  • Blue Beetle
  • Deadshot
  • Gorilla Grodd
  • Harley Quinn
  • Superman
  • Supergirl
  • Wonder Woman

While The Flash hasn’t had a gameplay trailer yet, he will surely be in the game since he’s been advertised. There have also been hints of seeing Captain Cold and Doctor Fate in the game, due to a promotional shirt. Red Hood and Constantine have been rumored, but they haven’t been confirmed yet.

Guest characters have also been teased by Ed Boon, particularly those from Mortal Kombat. This makes sense, since NetherRealms also worked on Mortal Kombat 2009 and Mortal Kombat X. Other characters like Hellboy and Spawn have been teased on Twitter by Boon as well.

Who Else Will Be Added?

Fans are hoping to see more Injustice 2 news, as the game is slated for a Q1 2017 release. It will be interesting to see who returns from the last installment and who the new fighters will be. Both Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd impressed fans, while Blue Beetle also looks like a formidable fighter.

Overall, it looks like a worthy sequel to the first game and should also be a fun fighter in its own right. There might not be much new from the first Injustice game, but it should still be a solid fighter.

Injustice 2 will be out this year, though no official release date has been revealed. A new tie-in comic has also been confirmed for the game.
