Hunter X Hunter

Hunter X Hunter 361 release will be delayed to early next year as its writer, Yoshihiro Togashi goes on an indefinite hiatus yet again. Due to his chronic back pain, Togashi is unable to write and illustrate for long periods of time.

This is not the first time that this has happened. Back in April 2014, the Hunter X Hunter manga went on a break for the same reason, and only returned exactly two years later.

Rocketnews 24 actually reached out to the manga?s publisher, Shueisha, to gather any information about the break.

?The last time the series was put on hold, it was because of Togashi-sensei?s lower back pain, and once again, his condition has gotten worse, necessitating a break again. At this time, it is not certain when we will be able to resume the series.?

There were rumors that Togashi?s wife, Naoko Takeuchi, the artist and creator of the Sailor Moon series, has been the one drawing the background patterns and illustrations for Hunter X Hunter.

Togashi to serve as consultant?

As fans who are used to long breaks like this from Togashi, rumors are spreading that Shueisha is hiring new writers to continue the plot. This would then pave the way for Togashi to serve as a consultant instead, to ensure continuity and creative preservation of what he has in mind for the manga.

On the other hand, there are also rumors that Shueisha will let go of Togashi ?and just work with the writers to continue Hunter X Hunter 361 and the succeeding chapters.

Bold move, if ever, as this will definitely make or break the manga series, which has created a loyal following throughout the years. Togashi has single-handedly put Hunter X Hunter to life and Shueisha letting him go might not sit well with followers of the long-running manga.

Whether or not Chapter 361 will be out, or whether Togashi will continue with the work or not, remains to be seen. The only clear fact is that the talented artist is still recuperating from his condition.
