Huawei Teases Honor Epic Smartphone Launch for CES 2017; Honor Magic Possible To Get US Release

Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei, revealed plans to unveil an Honor Epic at CES 2017 on January 3 in Las Vegas. Details on the upcoming mobile are scarce, but the poster features such as a dual camera is similar to Honor 8.

Huawei Honor Epic Features Specs

Honor made a series of tweets along with a photo taken with the mobile device. The image clearly indicates the handset will feature a dual-camera setup. The company teased the product launch with lines as such: ??A phone has never been so scrumptious,? ?R U brave enough to expect more?? and ?Fiercely unlocked.?

Despite the cryptic tweets, Android Authority feels Honor might release one of its existing smartphones in the United States. The company will possibly use the CES platform to promote their devices in the market dominated by major brands such as Samsung and Apple. Android Authority said the company could announce the US launch of Honor Magic.

Honor Magic Specs

Huawei?s Honor brand has seen some major smartphones recently including the Honor 6X and Honor Magic. The Honor Magic sports a metallic frame with curved 3D glass display on the front. The 5.09-inch QHD AMOLED display has a 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and pixel density of 577ppi.

The Honor Magic is powered by the Kirin 950 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.3GHz. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of memory storage. In terms of camera, two 12-megapixel sensors with f/2.2 headline the rear while 8-megapixel sensor is loaded on the front. A 2900mAh battery powers the device running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

With Honor rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat to its devices, it is likely that the upcoming device could launch with Nougat out of box. Of course, nothing is confirmed as of yet and Huawei?s Honor will indeed launch a brand new smartphone.
