HTC Vive 2 will not be released at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017. HTC has officially confirmed the news.
HTC debunks the rumor which claims that Vive 2 is making an entry at the CES in Las Vegas.

HTC will be bringing out a wireless device by ditching USB and HDMI cables. A Bulgarian virtual reality startup, Quark VR, is expected to create wireless headsets for HTC. Quark VR will closely work with Valve to create HTC Vive 2. Valve is behind the success of HTC Vive Original. ?Valve was more than happy to cooperate with us on the task? we?re incredibly happy the guys from Valve are so open to cooperation and improving their amazing creation,? Quark said, according to arsTechnica.
HTC Vive 2 Features and Price
The HTC Vive 2 features two 4K displays with refresh rates of 120Hz. The current model of Vive has ?2160×1200 pixel resolution (1080×1200 per eye) and 90Hz refresh rate. So 4k display is likely to steal the show.

The new headset will pack ?room-scale? VR technology which will enrich the virtual gaming experience. Rikard Steiber, SVP of Virtual Reality at HTC, has teased that HTC is all set to innovate new features.
According to the International Business Times, HTC Vive will pack ?lighthouse? technology which can fill the ?room with non-visible light. The current Vive models are also having the same feature. But it is not really user friendly. HTC ?Vive 2 is likely to be very costly since it?s packing brand new features. But the price may come down after a few months from its launching. The current HTC Vive costs $799. Recently, HTC Vive original was spotted with a $100 price cut under the 12 Days of Deals promotional program.
