The tech world is being bombarded recently with rumors about the alternative to HTC?s premium flagship model, the HTC One M8. It is widely accepted that the cheaper version of the model will be called HTC One M8 Ace. But fresher reports suggest that the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is planning a different ?Ace? model to be launched in China. Whether this model will essentially be the same, no one can still say for certain.
Chinese website iFanR.com leaked details about the upcoming model, saying it would be named a Vogue edition. Not only did the website mentioned its supposed specifications, it also said that the Chinese model will be released on June 3 and leaked an image of the purported ?Ace Vogue? that appears to have the same build and design with other leaked photos of the HTC M8 Ace.
According to the leak, the handset will have quite similar internal hardware with the flagship One M8 itself. As such, it?s expected to be furnished with a Snapdragon 801 processor, 5-inch 1080p HD display, 2 GB RAM, and will be powered by Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC?s custom UI called Sense 6. It is also likely that it will have HTC BoomSound Technology, same with its flagship model inspiration.
The main difference of this cheaper Ace or Vogue, or Ace Vogue edition is its outward appearance and form. It?s obvious that the model is steering away from the flagships metallic aura and shifts more on the plastic side of things. But upon closer look of leaked images, it doesn?t go plastic all the way. Furthermore, it a little disappointing that this Vogue model will only have a single 13-megapixel rear camera.
Though some smartphone observers might think that those differences from the flagship HTC One M8 are only superficial and may be dismissed as minor variations, this one difference perhaps can draw a distinct line. The HTC One M8 Ace, or Vogue for this instance, is said to be priced at only 3,000 RMB or approximately $ 481. That is quite below the speculated $ 500 for this cheaper version.
