Rumor has it that the HTC One successor is the most powerful HTC handset to date. Although HTC does not make it at the top, its strive for development could make or break Taiwanese firm. Considering the HTC One 2, or fondly called by consumers as the M8, as the most powerful unit yet means there is something significant to it.
A Make or Break for HTC
The successor of HTC One has been codenamed as M8 since the original model was called M7 during its development. HTC will not launch the unit under the name M8, but going head ? to ? head with the newest flagship models from mobile tech giants this year would be a make or break for the Taiwanese firm.
How Powerful is it?
It is not clear how accurate the details taken from sources are, but the HTC One 2 is reported to have 2GB of RAM and 2.26GHz of Snapdragon 800 quad ? core processor. With these features, the M8 would surely be at par with the likes of Google Nexus 5, Sony Xperia Z1 and LG G2. The original HTC One only has 1.7GHz of Snapdragon 600 chip. HTC One 2 will not only have more power, but hopefully have better battery life with the help of Qualcomm?s 800 SoC.
The most powerful HTC mobile device is tipped to run on the latest Google mobile platform, which is the Android KitKat 4.4. It will also have a high ? definition 5 ? inch screen display, much bigger than the 4.7 ? inch HTC One.
Release Date and Price Point
HTC has sent out invitations to an event on March 25, which people can only assume to be the day of the new HTC One 2 launch. It is taking place in London and will kick off at 4pm (GMT). This assumption is not impossible as HTC seems to be avoiding the show offs at the MWC 2014 with the rumored launches of Xperia Z2 and Galaxy S5.
There is no official price release for the HTC M8 just yet. However, considering it as the next flagship handset model of HTC would entail a hefty price tag. Until its launch date, you should start saving your money for it.
